Former US Team Member Hope Nichols Prockop To Sing National Anthem At Boston Celtics Game special to DailySquashReport.com
December 13, 2012 - Hope Nichols Prockop will be singing the National Anthem
for the Boston Celtics before their game against the Minnesota Bucks on Friday, December
21 at 7.30pm at the TD Garden. Hope sings Alto as a key member of Boston's
leading female acapella group, BroadBand. BroadBand sung the National
Anthem for the infamous SHOWDOWN at SYMPHONY 2010 (photo). In 2011 and
2012, Hope sang again at SHOWDOWN at SYMPHONY, not with BroadBand those
times, but as a duet with World Junior Champion and Harvard #1 Amanda
Sobhy.
Hope is a three-time member of TEAM USA (2006 - Pan Ams player, 2010 - Pan
Ams manager, 2008 - Women's Worlds player) as well as a Women's National
5.5 and Womens 40+ Champion and current #1 in the Women's 35's rankings.
(Hope was a gold medalist for TEAM USA 2006 in both Team and Doubles -
partnering with Ivy Pochoda - competitions.) Hope was a Co-Captain of
Harvard's 1990 National Championship Team and co-chairs the Friends of
Harvard Squash. Hope sang a capella as an undergraduate at Harvard with
the Harvard-Radcliffe Veritones as well as classical repertoire with
University Choir.
In addition, Hope works part-time for Gregory Floyd and Associates, a full
service private school consulting firm. She is also certified as a
holistic health coach thru the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Hope
is an athlete representative on the Investment Committee of the Board of
US Squash. Hope, an alumna of Groton and Harvard, is married to David
Prockop, a science teacher and coach at Groton. Their two daughters attend
Groton.
The performance on 12/21 marks BroadBand's third performance for the
Celtics! In addition to the Celtics, BroadBand has performed for the Red
Sox at Fenway Park. BroadBand has performed at Club Passim, Children's
Hospital, Emerson Hospital, Coffeehouses in the greater Boston area and
public schools as well as a number of private
events.
