Wagih Waltzes To Valencia Victory by Nathan Clarke
December 15, 2014 -
Egypt's Andrew Wagih Shoukry scored his second PSA World Tour title in
two weeks when he upset top seed Kristian Frost Olesen in the final of
the PSA Valencia Open, the PSA Challenger 10 squash event in its fourth
year at Olympia Spa & Fitness in Valencia, Spain.
The No.3 seed from Cairo reached the final – the 17th of his career –
when he ended the run of local star Edmon Lopez Moller in the
semis. Spanish qualifier Moller had earlier upset the form book
when he ousted Muhd Asyraf Azan, the second seed from Malaysia.
Shoukry needed 77 minutes to get the better of Olesen, despatching the
World No.79 from Odense 11-4, 7-11, 11-1, 11-8 to notch up the seventh
Tour title of his career.
The triumph, following November's success in the London Open in
England, also established a new eight-match unbeaten Tour run for
Shoukry.
