PSA Can Bank On Bankers Hall Pro Am In Calgary by Howard Harding
20 December 2012 - Next year's tenth anniversary of the PSA Bankers Hall Club Pro Am in Canada will be celebrated with a new title sponsor.
The 2013 PSA Challenger 10 TAQA Bankers Hall Club Pro Am will take place at Bankers Hall Club in Calgary from 24-27 January.
"Great news out of Calgary is that the long history of the Bankers Hall
Club Pro Am PSA event will in fact continue next year, despite losing
long time title sponsor Talisman Energy in early November," said the
club's long-time Head Squash Professional Bob Ballinger.
"It was looking like we would have a year without PSA squash here but
at virtually the midnight hour a new title sponsor appeared and it's
PSA squash as usual here in the Stampede city!
"We are thrilled to announce that TAQA has come on board for the 2013
event and it will be run at the same PSA level as years past.
Continuing the great tradition here is also the amateur component of
the tournament which has become arguably the most popular tournament
anywhere as evidenced by the fact that it was sold out with 170 entries
(currently 30 on a wait list to get in) within four hours of entries
being accepted last Friday…..a full 6 weeks before the tournament
begins!"
Past champions of the PSA event include Borja Golan, Cameron Pilley,
Tommy Berden, Matthew Giuffre, Daryl Selby, Shahier Razik, Arturo
Salazar (two times), and Chris Simpson (defending two time champion).
"Others to have played this event over the years but unable to win the
tournament include Peter Barker, Omar Mosaad, Simon Rosner, Alister
Walker, Miguel Angel Rodriguez, Alan Clyne, Jonathan Kemp, Campbell
Grayson, and Martin Knight to name only just a few!" added Ballinger.
