A History Of Harvard Squash During The Mike Way Coaching Era (2010-2021) Released
Dateline December 22nd, 2021---
Rob Dinerman’s most recent book, A History Of Harvard Squash During The
Mike Way Coaching Era (2010-2021) --- a leather-bound, 186-page sequel
to his original Harvard Squash History that was published in 2015 and
covered the period from the program’s inception in 1922 through the
2009-10 season --- was released earlier this month. It chronicles the
stirring most recent chapter of the greatest extended dynasty in the
annals of college squash and describes in full a host of
accomplishments during the past decade that include 11 national
intercollegiate team championships (eight Howe Cup titles by the
women’s team and three Potter Cup triumphs by the men’s) and 12
national intercollegiate individual championships, hence 23 national
intercollegiate championships overall. The book covers the multitude of
exciting matches that were played over the course of that time frame,
both the exhilarating wins and the heartbreaking losses, as well as the
exploits of current PSA superstars Ali Farag ’14, the reigning World
Open champion, and Amanda Sobhy ’15, currently ranked third on the PSA
tour; the record six-straight (and counting) national women’s team
titles (highlighted by a 2018-19 season in which the team went
wire-to-wire without losing a single match, posting 9-0 scores
throughout); and the Howe Cup/Potter Cup “double” in both that season
and the following one, all accomplished under the direction of one of
the most dynamic and successful coaches in the history of any sport.
The latter’s personality
and unique coaching philosophy permeate the manuscript, which also
features dozens of action, candid and team photos and a full Appendix
of team records, All-American designations and award winners. This book
truly “completes the picture” of Harvard squash as the Crimson program
enters its 100th men’s season and 50th women’s season. Anyone wishing
