George Washington’s two varsity teams pay a visit to the surging
University of Virginia club teams today in Charlottesville. You can

The College Squash Association doesn’t rank club programs at this stage of the season, but the Virginia teams http://dailysquashreport.com/2_19_16_virginia.htm
are the best club programs in the nation. The teams have resources and
skill levels exceeding many varsity teams. Both teams are expected to
play competitive matches against the Colonials.
The Virginia men lost a 5-4 heartbreaker to #14 Navy last month in
Annapolis. The Colonials have suffered early-season injuries, and
played with just eight men against Princeton November 20. With Virginia
playing on its home court, an upset can't be ruled out against the
#11-ranked visitors.
A win would be huge for the Cavaliers. The men topped Wesleyan to take
third in the “C” division at the national championships in February.
That gave the team a #19 end-of-season ranking. A win today would boost
Virginia’s hopes to land a spot in the top 16 at the national
championships in February.
The GW men added depth with several talented freshmen and have real
potential for a top 10 finish this season if their three missing
starters return to the line up. Last season the Colonials finished #11,
the best in the program’s history.
The Virginia women broke into the elite 16 last season and look to
continue their ascent. The Cavaliers defeated #13 Franklin and Marshall
College 5-4 November 20 in Lancaster. GW will look to maintain its #12
ranking.
