The Boar’s Head will be opening a
state-of-the-art squash facility this spring and we have started a
search for a Director of Squash to lead our initiative.
This is an exciting opportunity help grow the sport and create an innovative program from the ground up.
The Director of Squash will be responsible
for the growth of squash for all ages and levels in a new area with
previously limited exposure to the sport.
This appointment will develop, promote, and
supervise all Squash Programs for adults, children and seniors – to
include Friends of Virginia Squash (FoVS); UVA Intramural Recreation
programs; UVA Squash Club Teams; and BHSC Members and Guests –
including instruction, tournaments, leagues, UVA Club matches, and
junior programs. With this new facility, our goal will be to
maximize court utilization and revenue by providing a variety of
activities and programs.
The Director of Squash will also serve as
an ambassador for the Boar’s Head in all facets as we continue to
enhance its reputation as a premier resort, club, and racquet sports
venue.
The Director of Squash will serve as the
Head Coach for the University of Virginia Men’s and Women’s
Intercollegiate Squash Teams.
This will include recruiting players and
developing a collegiate program to the standard and expectations set
forth by the Friends of Virginia Squash Board.
The ideal candidate will have 5 – 8 years
coaching at the high school and/or collegiate level, and will have 5
years’ experience working in an exclusive sports complex, private club
or resort.
