MAC is a private
not-for-profit athletic and social club near downtown Portland, Oregon,
at SW 18th and Salmon Streets. A complete club, with first-rate

The
Head Squash Pro is responsible for building, promoting, and directing a
thriving junior and adult singles and doubles squash program for
players of all skills and ages in support of MAC’s Athletic Life Cycle.
This includes fostering community camaraderie, teaching lessons,
conducting clinics, coaching competitive players and effectively
running tournaments; as well as managing the assistant pros, squash
member coaches, athletic members, and working with the squash committee
and club management. Reports directly to the Athletic Director.
Essential job functions include:
Coaching/teaching
individual and group lessons, clinics, and camps for youth and adults.
Identifying age appropriate tournaments for MAC players Organizes and
oversees regional tournaments hosted by MAC and acts as a
representative of MAC Enforces squash rules and procedures regarding
scheduling/reservations of courts in conjunction with squash committee
Develops and manages department budget Maintains program website and
distributes information regarding camps, classes, clinics, etc. to
staff and members Promotes MAC safety practices and code of conduct in
club activities while providing quality service to members Participates
in all club related training classes
Qualifications include:
Ability to skillfully
instruct and play squash with members of all skill levels Supervisory
experience and SRA Level III Coach w/ Elite Status preferred Proven
record of developing squash players of all skill levels Working
knowledge of program administration and budgeting Ability to
effectively motivate and develop staff and build a cohesive team Strong
verbal and written communication skills Similar working experience in a
private club setting is preferred.
