Karachi to Host Five International Satellite Events from our correspondent
January 17, 2020 KARACHI: The city of Karachi is hosting, for the first time, five back to back international satellite squash events from March 3-16.
All five events will be held at Sindh Rangers Jahangir Khan Squash Complex in North Nazimabad here.
Each event for men carries prize money of $1000 while each event for women offers prize money of $500.
The first event of the series will be held from March 3-4 and the second event is to be held from March 6-7.
The third event is scheduled from March 9-10 and the fourth event is to be held from March 12-13.
The final event of the series will be held from March 15-16. The last date of entries is February 20th.
The tournament promoter is Usama Khan and tournament referee is Ashfaq Hussain.
Former Pakistan number one player Nasir Iqbal is to feature in this WSF and PSA Satellite Tour.
“I am very happy to see these events happening in Karachi for the first
time. As I mentioned few years back that I have a plan for Pakistan
Squash and these events are part of that plan.
“I am very confident that Usama Khan will host these events single
handedly and he has great management skills too,” said Jahanzeb Masud,
the organizer from United States of America.
He added that this whole satellite tour will be a good lesson for other squash associations.
“I hope they will learn from this young and energetic team how to host
quality events with minimal cost for the promotion of squash,” said
Jahanzeb.
