Stars Set To Get 2013 Off To Flying Start from Emilia Media
January 1, 2013
- The biggest stars in world squash are coming to London this week for
the ATCO PSA World Series Squash Finals at Queen’s Club, ready to get
the New sporting Year off to a flying start.
The tournament, which starts on Wednesday 2nd January, boasts a
glittering line-up of the most accomplished players from around the
globe, including World No.1s James Willstrop and Nicol David. Willstrop
leads a strong contingent of British players, which also includes Nick
Matthew, Peter Barker, Laura Massaro and Jenny Duncalf.
Only the best eight performers from squash’s elite World Series events
get to compete at Queen’s Club, where there is a (US) $100,000
prize-money purse up for grabs as well as one of the most prestigious
trophies in squash.
The ATCO PSA World Series Finals will offer another squash showcase to
help its campaign to gain inclusion in the 2020 Olympics. The sport is
already making a powerful case to be part of the Olympics, with players
like David, Willstrop, Matthew and Egyptian superstar Ramy Ashour all
spearheading the effort to get the world of sport to ‘Back the Bid’ for
2020.
Many of next week’s sessions are already sold out, with only a handful
of tickets left and selling fast. Tickets are available through
Ticketmaster on 0844 847 1929 or by clicking here. Eurosport and Sky
Sports will both be broadcasting live from Queen’s Club, with Sky
Sports showing the weekend’s semi-finals and finals exclusively (Sat
5th Jan 6-10pm and Sun 6th Jan 4-7pm).
