Trinity Men's Squash Wins at George Washington

Janauray 7, 2016 - Washington, D.C. – The visiting Trinity College Bantams concluded a three-day, three-match trip to the Middle Atlantic States with a 9-0 men’s squash victory over the George Washington University Colonials this afternoon.  The Defending National Champion Bantams, ranked No. 1 nationally, improve to 6-0, while the Colonials drop to 5-3 after a 5-0 start.  Trinity, which blanked Drexel, 9-0, in Philadelphia on Tuesday, and won, 8-1, at Navy yesterday, will return home to entertain Cornell on Monday, January 11 at noon.

Trinity dominated the middle of the lineup with 3-0 wins at No. 2 thru No. 7.  Sophomore James Evans (Maidstone, England) allowed just 10 points at the No. 8 spot, while sophomore Rick Penders (Maastricht, Netherlands) held off first-year Moudy Abdel-Maksoud with a gutty 14-12 triumph in the deciding fifth frame of 3-2 victory at the top of the lineup.
