West Coast Regional Skills Tournament a Success by Kim Clearkin
February 9, 2015 -
Another great tournament here at BCSF this weekend as we hosted the US
Squash sanctioned West Coast Regional Skills tournament.
We were treated to some quality squash in many of the finals, the
youngest competitor being 11 and the oldest 70+. We also had many new
faces compete and which was great to see and special thanks to those
players who traveled to SF to play. We all appreciated you making this
effort so that we had new people to compete with.
Many players stayed to watch the 6.0 final between BCSF's own Charlie
Johnson, and Sacramento favourite Ricardo Lopez. They have definitely
had some battles in the past and this was no exception. The crowd was
treated to a battle of slow and steady and accurate frustrating pace
and speed. Charlie came out victorious playing some flawless squash
especially in the first and second games.
Here are all the results for you Congratulations to our Regional
Champions and finalists who both receive free entry to the National
Skill Level finals in Philadelphia in October.
