Position: Assistant Squash Professional

The Glencoe Club is a premier private sports and family club located in southwest Calgary, Alberta, with 12,000 members. Our facilities include seven squash courts, two swimming pools, six badminton courts, ten bowling lanes, eight curling sheets, a skating rink, six indoor tennis courts, a fitness facility, a 45 hole golf club, restaurants and bars.

We are currently undergoing a $20+ million expansion which will include the following improvements to the squash facility - a North American doubles court, a new squash office by the courts and a larger viewing and socializing area.

Our squash facilities are used by a growing demographic of men, women and junior players, many of whom are nationally ranked.

The Club is seeking a highly motivated full time Assistant Squash Professional to join the current team.

Title of position: Assistant Squash Professional

Job duties:

·    Serve as a Coach for all member needs. This will include group lessons for all ages, private and semi-private lessons for all ages and any other knowledge based squash and North American Doubles instruction;
·    Organize programs, leagues, tournaments and guest instructors;
·    Involvement with the squash committee;
·    Organization and implementation of Squash Interclub;
·    Reporting to the Head Squash Professional, David Duncalf.

Skill requirements:

·    A high level of customer service essential;
·    North American doubles experience highly beneficial;
·    Level 2 NCCP Certification (or international equivalent) required, Level 3 or 4 an asset;
·    Two to three years in an equivalent position required;
·    Competitive playing level required;
·    Experience organizing tournaments and events of all sizes utilizing other Club departments;
·    Knowledge of  the operation and maintenance of squash facilities;
·    CPR Level "C" and First Aid Certification required;
·    Proficient computer, organizational and time management skills necessary.

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full Time (weekend and evenings as well as travel to tournaments will be required)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Wage and benefits: Compensation will be based on applicant’s experience/qualifications and will be a combination of annual salary, hourly wage and commission. Benefits to include medical, dental, RRSP, meals.
