Thursday Night Action
Mike Ferreira/Baset Chaudhry 3-2 Phil Barker/Greg McArthur (3) (10) 10, 6, 11 Chaudhry and Ferreira
stormed back from a 2-0 deficit to win 15-11 in the fifth. This match
was played at an incredible pace throughout all five games. They play
Patrick Bedore and Shahier Razik Friday at 7:00pm.
Joshua Schwartz/Hamed Anvari 3-2 Freddie Reid/Chris Walker 11, (9), 13, (8), 5 Amazing athleticism
from both of these teams tonight. A seasaw battle all the way to the
fifth game and it was Schwartz and Anvari who squeezed through. A tough
loss for Walker and Reid who looked like they might provide some upsets
this week. Schwartz and Anvari go on to face #3 seed Imran Khan and
Greg Park Friday at 5:00pm.
Raj Nanda/Matt Jenson 3-0 Julian Illingworth/Todd Ruth 4,5,9 The other
All-Australian team Nanda/Jenson was absolutely formidable tonight.
Hitting winners from all angles and putting Americans Illingworth and
Ruth in all kinds of trouble. A straight sets victory for the Aussies
who look like they are on a mission here in Baltimore. They face #2
seed Paul Price and Clive Leach Friday at 6:00pm
Graham Bassett/Ian Power 3-0 Dan Roberts/John Roberts 14,14, (14), It was not the luck of
the Irish tonight, brothers Dan and John Roberts (Ireland) narrowly
lost the first two games to Ian Power and Graham Basett 15-14,
15-14. The bounced back to take the 3rd 15-14. The thriller
continued and again Power and Bassett won 15-14 in the 4th to take the
match. Power and Bassett take on #1 seeds Damien Mudge and Ben Gould
8:00pm Friday night!
