Trinity Men's & Women's Teams Capture NESCAC Titles by David Kingsley

- The Trinity College Bantams have faced the Williams College Ephs in
all eight New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's
Squash Championship Finals, and for the eighth year in a row this
afternoon, Trinity earned a decisive victory to take home the league
crown. With a 9-0 triumph today at Hamilton College, Trinity completed
a 27-0 sweep of its three conference opponents over two days. The
top-seeded Bantams shut out Wesleyan and Middlebury yesterday to reach
today's match. The top-ranked and defending National Champion Bantams
improve to 15-0 entering Tuesday night's home match against No.
2-ranked Harvard. Trinity senior captain Matthew Mackin (Greenwich,
Conn.), juniors Miled Zarazua (Mexico City, Mexico) and Moustafa Hamada
(Alexandria, Egypt), and sophomore Juan Vargas (Bogota, Colombia)
posted 3-0 victories for the Bantams.

- The Trinity College Bantams captured their eighth consecutive New
England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women's Squash
Championship title with ease, blanking the Bates College Bobcats, 9-0,
for the second time this season. The top-seeded Bantams shut out
Wesleyan and Middlebury to reach the finals of the tournament, which
was moved from its seven-year home at Trinity's Kellner Center to
Hamilton College this winter. The No. 2-ranked Bantams improve to 11-0
entering Tuesday night's home match against top-ranked Harvard. Trinity
won seven of nine matches by 3-0 scores. First-years Anna Kimberley
(Essex, England) and Alexia Echeverria (Bogota, Colombia) each won by a
combined score of 33-12.
