World #34 Samantha Cornett of Toronto files this report following a fifth-set semifinal tiebreak win tonight over Emma Beddoes of England in the WSA $10,000 Delaware Open:
This was a match that could have gone either way.
The first two games I dominated with good tight length, and she gave me a bundle of tins. Then we swapped roles for two games. Then the fifth was a free for all, with crazy long rallies. I felt I wasn't too tired after the 4th, so decided to run everything down and make it long and hard in the fifth. Great plan, couldn't feel my legs by 10-10. But I guess it worked. 13-11 in the fifth for me with a dramatic dive from Emma to finish. The crowd loved it! Lots of people out to watch.
Through to the finals tomorrow night and looking forward to get a crack at SJ, she got me last time in 5. I need my revenge!
