Outstanding Turnout For Milestone Hashim Khan Invitational, 22 Champions Crowned by Rob Dinerman
Dateline March 17th
--- While the Matt Jenson/Preston Quick and Suzie Pierrepont/Steph
Hewitt duos will go down in history as the respective winners of the
men’s and women’s professional tournaments this past weekend in the
35th annual Hashim Khan Invitational, headquartered as always at the
magnificent Denver Athletic Club and expertly run by the longtime head
pro John Lesko and his wife Anne, there were 20 additional champions
crowned as well, with a pair of pro-ams along with nine amateur doubles
flights and nine singles draws. The play was constant throughout
several days of nonstop action, as the sound of squeaking sneakers,
resounding tins, blasted balls and crowd reactions created a
cacophonous din of enthusiasm and effort. By Sunday evening, 218
players had completed a total of 168 matches in what must be regarded
as the most successful edition yet of this highly popular annual
championship. Below is a summary of the winners and runners-up.
