NorCal Squash Series Underway, Extends to Sacramento by Kim Clearkin

- NorCal Squash are excited to present the NorCal Squash Pro Series – a
series of 3, 1K PSA Closed Satellite Events in Northern California.
These tournaments are designed to help aspiring PSA players gain
valuable points so that they can rise up the world rankings and
subsequently qualify for higher ranked tournaments.
Closed Satellite tournaments bring together top local juniors who need
exposure to the next level to improve, top local adults who may in the
past have played on the tour or at college, and the young PSA player.
This mix results in a tournament with lots of local flavor for squash
fans to enjoy. The three tournaments in Northern California Squash this
March are as follows:
March 13-15 Corte Madera Invitational sponsored by Erick Chacon and Nathan Lefcowitz.

NorCal Squash has generously donated bonus prize money to recognize the series winner down to 4th place.
This past weekend saw the first of the three tournaments at Bay CLub Marin.
Competition was fierce with players from Mexico, England, Egypt and the
USA. Local favourite Charlie Johnson and Trinity number 2, Miled
Zarazua competed in the final with Charlie taking the first win if the
series in 3 competitive games.
This coming week sees the second in the series at Bay Club San
Francisco. Charlie will be looking to secure a second win at his home
club in front his home crowd and local juniors who will be competing in
a Silver tournament.
This time he has competition from local Egyptian pros as well as from Stanford alumni, and the best local players.
