WDSA St. Louis Update: Top Two Seeds To Meet In Final

--- Top-seeded defending champions Narelle Krizek and her sister Tarsh
McElhinny defeated Fernanda Rocha and Amy Gross 15-7, 13 and 14 this
afternoon in the semifinals of the second annual St. Louis Open, hosted
by the Missouri Athletic Club.
Krizek and McElhinny, who rallied from a two games to love deficit to
overtake Steph Hewitt and Meredeth Quick in last year’s final, will
face Hewitt again in a Sunday summit, this time with Dana Betts as her
partner, after the second seeds and 2013 U. S. National Doubles winners
Hewitt and Betts emerged victorious 15-13, 9 and 13 from their
bottom-half semi against Victoria Simmonds and Heidi Mather.
The top two seeds were both byed to the semis of this six-team draw, in
which quarterfinal action on Friday saw Rocha and Gross win in straight
sets over Karen Jerome and Tehani Guruge, while the
Mather/Simmonds duo dropped the second game but recovered to earn a
15-6, 9-15, 15-12, 15-9 win over Phoebe Trubowitz and Sarah West.
