Women’s Tour Should be Embarrassed After Wednesday British Open Round of 16 Display by Ted Gross
March 24, 2016
We’ve seen it too many times.
The
men are out there killing themselves, while the women are getting less
of a workout than if they were playing backyard pickleball.
This
isn’t a five thousand dollar Challenger. This is the final 16 of the
British Open, historically the most respected event in the sport.
The weaker players have been eliminated, if not in the qualifying then certainly by the end of the first round.
How can the women’s tour live with itself when all four round of 16 matches yesterday ended in less than a half hour?
Two of the four men’s round of 16 matches yesterday lasted over an hour-and-a-half.
You
feel sorry for the men, because they are the ones breaking down with
injuries and they are the ones who will be prime candidates for hip and
knee replacements after they retire.
