If there was ever an imbalance of East versus West regarding United States junior squash...this is it!
At the upcoming U.S. Squash Junior Silver Championships scheduled to be
held at the Meadow Mill Athletic Club in Baltimore over the April 20-22
weekend, there are (currently) over 370 players registered to compete.
Except for the boys and girls under 11 divisions, (where only 16
players are allowed to play), only 32 players will be accepted into
each of the eight remaining draws who are nationally ranked below the
top 32 players. This means that only #33 through #64 of the top-ranked
players will be accepted into the remaining eight different 32 player
draws.
Guess what...of the 370 plus players registered to play, 354 are from
the east coast and only 16 from the west coast! What are the chances of
the west coast players making one of the ten different draws...maybe an
average of only TWO per 32 player draw!? We'll leave it up to you to
guess how many!
