The Essentials

Two teams of seven players each are competing in the authorship of a squash-themed novel.

The festivities began on March 3rd, 2014 and will continue until one team emerges victorious.

The Tin Ringers, led by Jeanne Woods, are taking on The Handouts, captained by Margot Comstock.

Weekly sets of competing chapters are posted on Mondays on Daily Squash Report.

Three judges cast votes for the 'best' chapter, and that chapter becomes the official next chapter in the ongoing collaborative novel, East Side.

The 'losing' chapter becomes part of the alternate novel.

The winning player earns a point for his/her team. Match play is to 11, under PAR scoring.

The ongoing complete novel, incorporating the current week's winning chapter, is posted on Daily Squash Report on Thursdays.

The ensuing set of competing authors uses the winning chapter as their starting point.

The judges' verdicts will not be popular with all players, but hey, that's the way it is.

Black Knight is generously donating prizes to the seven players on the winning team.
