National Champion Trinity College Women's Squash Team Celebrates At Fenway Park by Rob Dinerman
Dateline April 12, 2025
--- This past Wednesday evening the Trinity College Women’s Squash
Team, fresh off having successfully defended their 2024 Howe Cup
championship just over a month ago, celebrated their achievement on the
field of Fenway Park prior to the Red Sox game against the Toronto Blue
Jays. They were accompanied in this event by Trinity’s men’s basketball
team, which culminated their season by winning the NCAA Division III
championship for the first time in the history of the program. Both
teams’ appearance was at the invitation of Red Sox President (and
Trinity College alum Class of 1995) Sam Kennedy.
The top two photos show Trinity senior Lujan “Lulu” Palacios --- who
won a crucial match with a late rally after trailing Molly Stoltz two
games to one in the Bantams’ thrilling 5-4 Howe Cup final-round victory
over Harvard --- throwing out the ceremonial first pitch (along with
men’s basketball coach James Cosgrove) and then exulting after her
pitch was a perfect strike. The bottom two photos are of the Trinity
women’s squash team, including its first-year coach Lauren Patrizio
(with her twin children Zoe and Zac Xaba), and Trinity’s legendary
men’s coach Paul Assaiante with Kennedy.
