- It took ten rounds of league play to decide the semi-finalists
for the 202 Premier Squash League, and this Tuesday Duffield, Surrey,
St George’s and Nottingham will make their bid to extend that season to
one, final, match.
Duffield were dominant in Group A, as they
were last year, but in 2011 they lost out in a thrilling home
semi-final to a side from Surrey who had finished runners-up in Group B.
Tuesday’s scenario is the same, although
the opposition is different. Last year Surrey H&R went on to take
the title, and finished top of their group this year to avoid an away
trip for the semi-finals. That falls to St George’s, who finished
runners-up to their local rivals in last year’s final.
Meanwhile Surrey welcome Group A runners-up Nottingham, who delighted in their last-gasp win to claim a place in the last four.
