PST Lead Referee Edwin Lennox To Call Tour's Final Two Events from Squash Media
April 22, 2012-
There are three characters impacting the fan experience in a squash
match: Player A, Player B, and the referee. Edwin Lennox's voice is the
one increasingly being heard at PST's bigger events.
As players are still competing for spots in
next week's PST World Championships and the American Open is set to
begin this week, the first invite to both tournaments was PST Referee
Edwin Lennox.
"I listen closely to our players," said PST Commissioner McManus. "Edwin is the one they feel most comfortable with."
"He is so consistent," says PST #2 Adrian Leanza. "I know what he's going to say before he says it."
Lennox hails from Johannesburg, South
Africa and has played at a high standard. "I love the game," said
Lennox. "And I am enjoying my role now with PST."
Lennox spent Saturday reviewing film and
walking through Rules of Play with PST's Joe McManus in preparation for
the upcoming tournaments. "I was listening, mostly," said McManus.
"This was a standard meeting in preparation for a big event, or in our
case, two big events."
The American Open starts this week in Tuxedo Park, NY at the corporate headquarters of LiveTechnology.
The PST World Championships begin May 4 at the Detroit Athletic Club.
