David Palmer Addresses His Role With The PST from DailySquashReport.com
May 11, 2012 - Pro Squash Tour marquee star David Palmer said the following to DailySquashReport yesterday concerning his role and arrangement with the three-year-old US-based tour:
"I have not invested money in the tour. However, I have a role with PST that extends beyond playing tournaments. "This includes helping
with player and tournament recruitment, tournament operations and
supporting the tour’s expansion outside the United States. Because I
joined the tour half way through the season, some of these roles have
yet to take effect or be announced. They will be by next season.
"I have some
incentives based on the tour’s growth that will lead to me having some
ownership in the tour. When my playing days are done, I will also have
the option of staying on in a leadership capacity. That conversation is
probably 4 or 5 years away though.
"So far, so good with PST. Joe’s kept his word on everything we discussed. And I’m looking forward to next season."
David
Palmer won two World Opens and four British Opens over a 16-year PSA
career. He attained the world number one ranking twice. He
currently manages the David Palmer Squash Academy in Orlando, Florida.
