A courageous display by Alfredo Avila in the final of the Atlanta Open
in the USA saw the unseeded 20-year-old Mexican fight back from two
games down, and save three match-balls, to win the PSA World Tour
Challenger 10 squash title at Life Time Fitness Atlanta in Atlanta.
Experienced South
African Clinton Leeuw took the first two games and, after dropping the
third, moved on to his first match-ball at 10-7 in the fourth game.
But young world No 148
from Mexico City made a giant comeback to win the title in front of a
sold out crowd 5-11, 6-11, 11-5, 15-13, 11-7.
"Avila gave a loud roar, winning his third title in 90 minutes," said tournament organiser Andre Maur.
Leeuw reported later
on Twitter: "Lost in 5, tough going but had my chances. Credit to my
opponent - he deserved the win - was better on the day."
