Creed Crushes Knight In Guatemala by Howard Harding

- Unseeded Welshman Peter Creed pulled off the biggest upset on the
second day of action in the Internacional Sporta Open when he defeated
top seed Martin Knight to reach the semi-finals of the PSA World Tour
Challenger 15 squash event in its fifth year at the Sporta club in
Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Creed, the 25-year-old
Welsh champion from Caerphilly, overcame New Zealander Knight 11-7,
11-5, 11-9 and will now face Mexican Cesar Salazar for a place in the
final.
"Smiles with a 3-0 win
over Kiwi friend, Martin Knight (Wr 42)," said Creed via Twitter. "Semi
Final next against Cesar Salad here in Guatemala."
Third seed Salazar
beat England's Jaymie Haycocks 11-8, 11-2, 11-9 - and will join his
twin brother in the semi-finals after fourth seed Arturo Salazar
recovered from 2/0 down to beat Mexican rival Eric Galvez 6-11, 8-11,
11-6, 11-3, 11-6.
