Announces 2012 World Junior Men's Team by Danny Da Costa

– Squash Canada today announced their team for the upcoming World
Junior Individual & Team Championships, which are taking place July
7 - 18, 2012 in Doha, Qatar. The 4 person team competing in
the Junior Men’s World Team Event includes: Cameron Seth of Fergus,
Ontario, Zachary Leman of Surrey, British Columbia, Tyler Lee of
Edmonton, Alberta and Tyler Olson of Victoria, British Columbia.
Joshua Sekhar of Etobicoke, Ontario is the reserve for the team
competition.
Cameron Seth,
18 from Fergus, Ontario recently captured the U19 title at the 2012
Canadian Junior Championship defeating Tyler Lee of Edmonton, Alberta
in the final. The first year University of Waterloo student also
finished 4th at the Canadian University & College Championship and
finished the 2011 – 2012 squash season ranked #1 in the Harrow Canadian
Junior Rankings.
Zachary Leman,
18 from Surrey, British Columbia placed 3rd at the 2012 Canadian Junior
Championships in the U19 age category. Leman finished 4th at the
Canadian Junior Open, won the Ontario Gold #3 core event and finished
the 2011 – 2012 squash season ranked #2 in the U19 age category in the
Harrow Canadian Junior Rankings.
Tyler Lee,
18 from Edmonton, Alberta is a first year student at the University of
Alberta. Lee was a finalist at the 2012 Canadian Junior
Championships and at the Canadian University & College
Championships. Tyler also finished 3rd in the Alberta Jesters
Core Event, 4th at the Ontario Gold #3 Core Event, and 6th at the
Canadian Junior Open. Tyler is 3rd in the U19 Harrow
Canadian junior rankings.
Tyler Olson,
18 from Victoria, British Columbia is a first year student at Harvard
University. Olson, who placed 5th in the 2012 Canadian
Junior Championships, captured the U19 Alberta Jesters core event,
placed 2nd in the Ontario Junior Open and finished 5th in the U19 US
Junior Open. Olson is ranked 4th in Canada in the U19 Harrow
Canadian Junior Rankings.
Joshua Sekhar, 18 from Etobicoke,
Ontario is the reserve (5th member) of the Canadian team.
The Canadian Team will
compete in both the Individual & Team World Championships in Doha,
Qatar. Canadian Junior Men’s National Coach Jonathan Hill of
Calgary coaches the Canadian Junior Men’s Team.
Canada finished 3rd at
the 2010 World Junior Team Championships in Ecuador. The bronze
medalist team was comprised of Andrew Schnell (Calgary, AB), Nicholas
Sachvie (St. Catharines, ON), Arjun Gupta (Toronto, ON) and Tyler
Osborne (Kingston, ON), coached by Jonathan Hill. The reserve member of
the 2010 team was Michael McCue.
