Sam Cornett Checks In From Mexico City from DailySquashReport.com
May 25, 2012
Just finished watching Kylie vs Nayelly, it
was a long affair, which is always a plus as I play the winner
tomorrow! Kylie won in five games, they were all close, but she
pulled away in the fifth. The two of them were fired up, and the
crowd fed off of that!
I was up first this afternoon and pulled
out a 3-0 win against Maria Fernanda, here known as MaFer. It was
great to get off pretty quickly, plus I played some good, consistent
squash. She also donated a bunch of tins to my cause! Happy
with the level of play, but no doubt once I'm tested more, the altitude
here in Mexico City will come into play!
Then it was Thaisa vs Diana, and there were
some good rallies there, but Thaisa has got a lot more experience than
Diana, and it showed in her length and consistency. Diana is
quite quick though, so Thaisa had to win each rally a couple of times!
Next up is Aisling and Karla.
There will be some great matches tonight, and definitely good lineups in the next rounds as well.
