Teenage Star Yathreb Adel Wins $10K WSA Mexico Open from DailySquashReport.com

- 16-year-old Yathreb Adel of Egypt defeated top seed Aisling Blake of
Ireland in a tight three games tonight to capture the 2012 WSA Mexico
Open title before a full house at the SquashPro Club in Mexico City.
The final line was 11-5 13-11 and 13-11 in just under 50 minutes.
The third seeded Adel
swept through the draw without the loss of a game. She beat Graciela
Lopez of Mexico in the 16s, Deon Saffery of Wales in the quarters and
Nicolette Fernandes of Guyana in the semis.
Adel is now 2-0 in 2012 tournaments, having captured the prestigious British Junior U17 Open in January.
In 2011 WSA play, she
won the Swiss Open and the Sheikha Al Saad Open, and was runner-up to
Dipika Pallikal at the Orange County Open in southern California.
With her two wins in 2011, Adel, at age 15, became the youngest player ever to win two WISPA titles.
