Kuwaitis Capitalise In Hawalli by Howard Harding 29 May 2013
- Top seed Abdullah Al Muzayen led a trio of Kuwaitis through to the
quarter-finals of the Martyr Fahad Al-Ahmad Squash Tournament after a
swift win in the opening round of the PSA World Tour Challenger 10
squash event in its second year at the South Surrah Ministries Complex
in Hawalli, Kuwait.
World No33 Al Muzayen despatched Pakistani qualifier Tayyab Aslam 11-3,
11-5, 11-6 in just 20 minutes and will now face fellow countryman Ammar
Altamimi for a place in the last four.
Altamimi, ranked outside the top 100, defeated experienced Pakistani Farhan Mehboob 11-8, 10-12, 12-10, 11-5 in 50 minutes.
But Bader Al Hussaini is providing surprise local interest in the
quarter-finals after upsetting Pakistan's Syed Ali Shah Bokhari 4-11,
11-8, 11-8, 7-11, 11-6 in 65 minutes.
The 29-year-old Kuwaiti qualifier now has a tough battle on his hands
against Mazen Hesham Ga Sabry, the No3 seed from Egypt who ousted
Pakistan qualifier Amaad Fareed 11-6, 11-7, 12-10.
