Al Muzayen Makes Biggest Final In Kuwait by Howard Harding

- Kuwaiti squash star Abdullah Al Muzayen reached the biggest final of
his career at the Jena International No1 when he despatched Egypt's
Omar Abdel Meguid in straight games in the semi-finals of the PSA World
Tour Challenger 15 event at Qadsia Sporting Club in Kuwait City, Kuwait.
The 24-year-old Kuwaiti number one followed his comprehensive defeat of
top seed Mohd Ali Anwar Reda in the previous round to overcome Meguid
11-7, 11-6, 11-7 in 36 minutes in his third successive 3/0 win in the
event.
Al Muzayen, celebrating the 14th PSA Tour final of his career - but by far the biggest - now faces third seed Karim Abdel Gawad.
The 20-year-old from Cairo survived a 72-minute marathon to upset
fellow countryman Marwan El Shorbagy, the 18-year-old No2 seed, 11-8,
8-11, 11-5, 9-11, 11-5 to reach the 10th Tour final of his professional
career.
