Delia Arnold Wins Squash Player’s Player of the Month Award from Tour Media
June 1, 2015
- Malaysia’s Delia Arnold has been named Player of the Month for June
by the authoritative London-based Squash Player magazine for her
outstanding performances as a qualifier at the British Open in May.
The 29-year-old from Selangor comfortably recorded her best ever
performance in a WSA World Series event when she reached the
semi-finals of the $115,000 event in Hull, England, knocking out world
no.2 Raneem El Welily and world no.3 Alison Waters along the way.
The world no.29 insisted she had made no changes to her game. “I've
been doing everything the same,” she said. “I’ve been working on a few
things on court for some time now but couldn't quite apply them to my
game.
“If there was one thing that changed, it was probably my attitude
towards my career. My coach, Peter Genever, has given me a different
perspective towards the game - to take a more professional outlook on
it.”
Arnold’s target is to continue enjoying her squash and “keep climbing on that ladder till I get to the top!”
