- Egyptian trio Omar Mosaad, Marwan ElShorbagy and Ali Farag have moved
up to career high positions inside the top ten of the PSA Men’s World
Rankings, released today (June 1st), to occupy the World No.3, No.6 and
No.9 positions, respectively.
28-year-old Mosaad moves up
one place to No.3 and leapfrogs England's three-time World Champion
Nick Matthew, who at No.4 is at his lowest ranking since January 2015,
while ElShorbagy moves ahead of Frenchman Mathieu Castagnet to occupy
the No.6 position in a top ten that is headed by elder brother Mohamed
ElShorbagy - who keeps his grasp on the World No.1 beth for a sixth
consecutive month.
After breaking into the top ten for the
first time in his career last month Farag, the 25-year-old Harvard
graduate, moves ahead of compatriot Tarek Momen to No.9 with No.8 Karim
Abdel Gawad completing a six-strong Egyptian contingent inside the top
ten.
Elsewhere inside the top twenty Australia's Ryan
Cuskelly moves up three places to No.16, just two positions behind
compatriot and recent PSA Dubai World Series Finals runner-up Cameron
Pilley, with England's Daryl Selby breaking back into the top 20 after
falling to No.21 last month - his first exit from the top 20 in seven
years.
