Men's World Team Championships Update: Dylan Murray To Replace Injured Todd Harrity On USA Squad by Rob Dinerman
Dateline June 4th
--- DailySquashReport.com has learned that in the wake of the hamstring
injury that Princeton star and 2011 U. S. team member Todd Harrity
sustained in training a few weeks ago, junior sensation Dylan Murray
has been added to the four-man roster as Harrity’s replacement on the
U. S. team that will be competing next week in the biennial WSF Men’s
World Team Championship, which is being held in Mulhouse, France.
Harrity, who won the Intercollegiate Individual championship in 2011
and reached the final of the 2013 event a few months ago, recently
underwent an MRI, which revealed a small tear in the muscle that will
take several weeks to heal.
The Harvard-bound Murray, the top-ranked American junior
who posted a strong win over former Intercollegiate Individuals champ
Bernardo Samper in the Hyder Cup tournament in New York last month,
will join reigning U. S. National champion Chris Gordon along with
Julian Illingworth and Gilly Lane on a U. S. team that will be coached
by Paul Assaiante. The team will travel on Wednesday to France, which
is hosting this tourney for the first time in the 46-year history of
the event. Prior to Harrity’s injury, it appeared that the U. S. would
be represented by the identical foursome that finished seventh in 2011,
which would have been the first time ever that the U. S. had entered
consecutive holdings of this prestigious championship with the same
lineup.
