Regarding the "Why is Egypt so good at squash" video...before Barada,
Shabana, Ashour, El-Shorbagy, Farag, Welily, El-Sherbini or
El-Tayeb...there was Dardir El-Bakary! When U.S. Squash (then the USSRA)
wanted to switch from the hardball game to the international soft-ball
game of squash, they brought Dardir to Cincinnati to give a week-long
seminar to a chosen number of squash coaches. We were one of the
privileged few! Dardir (about 5' 4" and 120 pounds) was an amazing man,
squash-player and coach! When he walked into the courts...his great
smile lit them up, ha, ha!
