- After cruising to an easy 3-0 victory over #23 Zimbabwe in first
round morning action, 10th-seeded Team Canada came up short against #3
England last night in the second round of pool play at the 2012 World
Men's Juniors.
Thomas Ford of the UK beat Tyler Olson in straight sets to open play at the number two postion.
#1 Canadian Cameron Seth gave Oliver Holland a 40-minute battle but also fell in straights.
Canadian #3 Zachary Leman lost to England's Richie Fallows 15-13 in the fourth.
Canada faces #13 Belgium today in the key pool play match for both teams.
Team Canada coach Jonathon Hill had this to say:
"We thought we had a chance against the English, but they were too
good. That's really something they are very good at: You think you are
close, but after they grind you, they just get away with the score.
"So now it's all about that match today against Belgium."
