Elshorbagy to Top British Grand Prix Line-Up from IMG Media
16TH JUL 2015 -
World No.1 Mohamed Elshorbagy will head a competitive field at the 2015
AJ Bell British Squash Grand Prix when the PSA M70 tournament gets
underway at the National Squash Centre, Manchester on September 11.
The Egyptian fell to a surprise quarter-final exit at the hands of
Mathieu Castagnet during the 2014 event but having ended the 2014/15
season in style by reaching seven consecutive World Series finals, and
winning the prestigious Allam British Open title, the man from
Alexandria will be hoping to go all the way in 2015.
With the AJ Bell British Squash Grand Prix featuring prominently on
what is a jam-packed September on the PSA World Tour the 24-year-old
also knows that performing well in Manchester will set him up perfectly
for an assault on the first few World Series titles of the season.
“The beginning of the season is always tricky but I can’t wait to be back playing tournaments again,” said Elshorbagy.
“Last season was a tough one but a successful one and I am working even
harder this summer to try and improve and hopefully I can perform even
better this season and that all begins in September.
“I am really looking forward to being back in Manchester. I played my
first ever World Championship there in 2008 when I was 17 and I made
the quarter-finals so it’s a venue where I have good memories.”
The AJ Bell British Grand Prix will get underway from Friday September
11 – Monday September 14 at the National Squash Centre, Manchester.
