WDSA Wilson Cup Semifinal Match-Ups Set by Rob Dinerman Dateline July 24th
--- Dana Betts and Tarsh McElhinny emerged triumphant over Carrie
Hastings and Tina Rix in a well-played 15-9 8-15 15-11 15-7
quarterfinal match that launched the third annual Wilson Cup in
Southampton this afternoon. This six-team invitational is the final
event of the 2013-14 WDSA pro women's doubles tour and features several
first-time partnerships, two of which, namely second seeds Suzie
Pierrepont/Tehani Guruge and Narelle Krizek/Joyce Davenport
(straight-set winners in today's other quarterfinal over Amy Milanek
and Dawn Gray), will meet Saturday morning in the bottom-half
semifinal. McElhinny and Betts are scheduled to face top seeds and
recent Turner Cup finalists Meredeth Quick and Steph Hewitt Friday
afternoon, with the final set for Saturday afternoon at 3 PM.
