July 1, 2015
- 24-year-old Egyptian Mohamed Elshorbagy maintains his hold on the
coveted World No.1 slot for the ninth consecutive month as he leads an
unchanged top 20 in the July Men’s World Rankings.
Elshorbagy has sat unopposed atop the rankings since November 2014 and
having captured the prestigious Allam British Open title in May, the
biggest title win of his career to date, the Bristol-based star will
begin the 2015-16 season with a commanding lead over World No.2 Nick
Matthew.
Injury-plagued World Champion Ramy Ashour remains in the World No.5
position, behind enigmatic Frenchman Gregory Gaultier and Colombian
Miguel Angel Rodriguez - the highest ranked South American player of
all time at World No.4
Elsewhere British Virgin Islands player Mike Adamson secures the
largest rise in the July rankings, moving up a mammoth 145 positions to
occupy the World No.309 position while Dylan Cunningham and Luke Jones
both rise over 120 places to World No.288 and World No.281,
respectively.
