Women's June World Rankings Reveal Unchanged Top 10 by Matt Wagg
July 2, 2012
- The July WSA World Tour Rankings see an unmoved top 10 as the summer
break as just three Tour 5 events and three Challenger events comprised
the June calendar.
The highest move at the top of the rankings sees Joelle King of New
Zealand leapfrog Samantha Teran of Mexico to occupy the No12
spot. King’s international teammate Jaclyn Hawkes also moves up
one place, overtaking Joey Chan of Hong Kong at No17.
English pair Emily Whitlock and Sarah-Jane Perry continue to move up
the rankings and both occupy their highest ever placings.
Teenager Whitlock rises two places to No30, whilst Perry, fresh from
her Corsican Open win, rises to No42.
Megan Craig and Samantha Davies are the highest climbers of the top100
after successful campaigns in Australia and both players rise by 11
places to 71 and 78 respectively.
Competitors in last weekend’s WSA Silver $35K International Des
Pyramides event will have to wait until next month’s ranking
announcement to see the benefit of their efforts. This is because
the final was not played until July 1st which makes it ineligible for
inclusion in this month’s release.
