- Five Americans and four Canadians advanced yesterday to the second
round of the 2012 World Men's Junior Indvidual Championships in Doha,
Qatar.
Dylan Murray, Devin McLaughlin, TJ Dembinski and Mason Ripka were each straight-set winners for the US contingent.
Teammate Edward Columbia received a walkover, while Liam McClintock fell to Ryosei Kobayashi of Japan.
Canadians Cameron Seth, Tyler Olson, Zachary Leman and Joshua Sekhar
were also comfortable first round winners. Tyler Lee lost a tight
four-gamer to Rul Soares of Portugal.
Women's play begins today.
