July 8, 2018 Ellie Tomlinson...Marblehead, MA
Ellie Tomlinson lives and works in Marblehead, Massachusetts. She was a
Colby College varsity squash-player and is an accomplished professional
artist who works in oil, watercolor, pastel and acrylic. She is also a
member of the Marblehead Arts Association.
Ellie is primarily a self-taught artist who has developed her own
painting style from a combination of formal instruction, reading and
observing...but most of all from experimenting and working diligently
with the various media. Her paintings are of a variety of subjects
including the sand dunes of Nantucket, sailboats, harbors, flowers,
skiers, dogs and napping cats.
Many of her paintings are of favorite views and nautical scenes in
Marblehead. Ellie's works have been exhibited in museums, galleries,
businesses and private homes throughout New England. She's had more
than two dozen one-artist shows and over 600 of her paintings have been
sold to individuals from Maine to California and in Europe.
Ellie holds a B.A. Degree from Colby College. For more than three
decades, Ellie was an art-teacher at the private Tower School in
Marblehead, where she taught art and physical education.
