$15K DC Squash On Fire Main Draw Opens Today, Free Admission by Matt Hagan
August 16, 2012 - WASHINGTON, DC
– The Women’s International Squash Player’s Association (WISPA) and
Squash on Fire, DC’s soon-to-be largest squash facility slated to open
in 2015, will host the WISPA Squash on Fire Series 2012 on Thursday,
August 16 – Sunday, August 19 at the Sports Club/LA. First round
matches begin on Thursday 8/16 at 4:00 p.m. and will play through
Sunday 8/19 at 12:00 noon for the championship round.
Tournament highlights include DC native Camille Lanier, 18, competing in this adult professional tournament.
The three top-ranked U.S. women competing in this international tournament are:
Latasha Khan (age 39) of Seattle, WA: ranked #25 in the world
Kristen Lange (age 24) of San Diego, CA: ranked #66 in the world
Camille Lanier (age 18) of Washington, DC: ranked #8 in U.S. (Junior Women 19 & Under) The event is free to watch.
Seeded to clash in the Final are Samantha Teran, World # 13/Mexico #1
and Sarah Kippax, World #23/England #4. The WISPA Squash on Fire Series
2012 Tournament will showcase the skill, power, precision and fitness
of these amazing athletes as they battle for one of the largest cash
