Former Yale Captain Spencer Lovejoy Signs With Dunlop
August 3, 2020 – (Fountain Inn, SC)Dunlop
today announced the signing of Spencer Lovejoy to its Squash Tour Team.
He will embark on his first full season on the PSA Tour pending the
resumption of competition. As part of the multi-year deal, the American
will endorse Dunlop squash rackets, luggage, eyewear and clothing.
After extensive playtesting, he’s selected the Sonic Core Ultimate 132
as his racket of choice.
“Dunlop is a renowned name in squash, their team is vested in seeing
the sport grow, and the latest Sonic Core rackets have already helped
my game,” said Lovejoy. “The pandemic has made the start to my pro
career a challenging one, but it’s actually given me more practice time
with the Ultimate 132, which is a great control racket.”
Lovejoy garnered a number of honors as a collegiate player at Yale. He
was a four-time First-Team All-American, winner of the Skillman Award
for Sportsmanship in 2020 and named team captain his senior year. He’s
won one professional event, the Mississauga Open in 2019.
“Spencer is a promising young American player who will be a valuable
asset to our Tour Team on and off the court,” said Kai Nitsche, VP and
General Manager of Dunlop Sports. “Our sales team had a chance to talk
with him as part of the launch of our new Sonic Core racket line, and
everyone came away impressed. He’s an accomplished young man with great
things in store; we’re proud to have him as part of Team Dunlop.”
