9 September 2012 - Top-ranked Brazilian Rafael Alarcon set up a mouth-watering South America v North America clash for the BH Open title in Brazil when he upset second-seeded Englishman Adrian Waller in the semi-finals of the PSA World Tour Challenger 10 squash event at Academia Winner Squash in Belo Horizonte.

Alarcon, the fourth seed ranked 71 in the world, battled for 71 minutes to overcome world No50 Waller 14-12, 7-11, 11-8, 11-5.

The in-form 35-year-old from Sao Paulo is celebrating the 31st PSA World Tour final of his career - but his fourth in a row in only his fourth appearance in a Tour event this year!

Alarcon will now face North American rival Julian Illingworth, the US number one and record eight-time US champion.

The 28-year-old top seed from New York was taken the full distance by young Englishman Charles Sharpes before finally emerging victorious 11-8, 9-11, 11-4, 7-11, 11-6 in 85 minutes over the 20-year-old third seed.

"Lost 3-2 to Julian Illingworth tonight in the semis, disappointed to lose but a lot of positive to take from it," tweeted Sharpes later.
