Wolverhampton To Host British Grand Prix Qualification by Steve Cubbins

- Leading international squash players from as far afield as Hong Kong
and India will descend on Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis & Squash Club
next week in a bid to qualify for the Springfield Solutions British
Grand Prix Championship.
Spanish No.1 and World
No.18 Borja Golan is seeded one in the qualifying event with the
leading German player and World No.19 Simon Rosner seeded two. Seven
countries will be represented within the qualifying field, with all top
eight seeds ranked in the world’s top 40.
Matches start at
5.30pm on Tuesday 18th September and 6.00pm on Wednesday 19th
September. Entry is free for Wolverhampton Club members with a £5 entry
fee per evening for all non-members.
The qualification draw
will include eight British players, headed by Scottish World No.31 Alan
Clyne, and local interest will be provided by Bridgnorth’s World No.34
Jonathan Kemp, former club professional Chris Ryder and current club
professional and a former World No.100 Darren Lewis.

(Egypt), Max Lee (Hong Kong), Alan Clyne (Scotland), Jonathan Kemp
(England), Chris Ryder (England), Mathieu Castagnet (France), Chris
Simpson (England), Siddharth Suchde (India), Gregoire Marche (France),
Oliver Holland (England), Adrian Waller (England), Jaymie Haycocks
(England) and Darren Lewis (England).
The Springfield
Solutions British Grand Prix Squash Championship will be staged at the
National Squash Centre in Manchester from 21-24 September.
