Look for squash to sneak in to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games,
despite the news last week that cricket and flag football are nearing
inclusion.
Squash having Mark Walter in its corner is a significant bargaining
chip, as Walter is the reported lead investor in the PSA and owns the
Los Angeles Dodgers . . .
Also in squash’s favor is the IOC’s intent to limit the number of total
athletes. Squash will require only 64 participants and one
flexible venue . . .
Plenty of negatives for squash in the IOC’s eyes--few public courts and
one country dominating the sport--but LA 2028 is its best shot.
