Elshorbagy Brothers Set Up Family Final In Mexico
by Nathan Clarke

September 21, 2014 - Egyptian brothers Mohamed and Marwan Elshorbagy, the World No.3 and No.17, will meet in the final of the Abierto Mexicano de Raquetas, PSA International 70 tournament taking place in Huixquilucan, Mexico after successfully coming through their semi-final encounters.

It will see the duo meet for just the third time on the PSA World Tour, with Mohamed having taken the spoils on both previous occasions, as they become the first brothers since Brett and Rodney Martin in 1993 to meet in a major PSA final.

Number one seed Mohamed, winner of the recent CIMB Malaysian Open and Hong Kong Squash Open, remains on course to claim his third title in a month after coming through a tricky match-up with compatriot Omar Mossad, with the Cairo-based player having to retire in the fourth game, handing Elshorbagy his place in the final.

While in the bottom half of the draw, Marwan, the younger of the two brothers at 21, followed up his impressive quarter-final win over number two seed and World No.12 Simon Rösner with a hard-fought victory over dangerous tournament wildcard Cesar Salazar, ending the local favourite's hopes of glory with a 3-1 victory.
